Tze Fung Suen, an information systems major at Drexel University, studied at Tohoku University in 2010-2011 with the help of a Bridging Scholarship sponsored by Bloomberg LP. The 3/11/11, earthquake and tsunami in Sendai interrupted his studies, but he was able to return to Japan later in the year to finish them.

Jennifer Heyrman, a microbiology major at the University of Wisconsin, studied at Sophia University in 2010-2011 with the help of a Bridging Scholarship sponsored by Lockheed Martin. A highlight of her year in Japan was playing on the Sophia women’s baseball team.

Bryan Turnbough, an international business major at the University of Texas, studied at Meikai University in 2010-2011 with the help of a Bridging Scholarship sponsored by J.P. Morgan. A field placement program at Meikai gave him experience with Japan’s business culture.
