About Our Cause

Bridging Scholars study everything from anthropology, art, business, computer science and engineering to politics, sociology and theatre. They hail from small, private liberal arts colleges to large, public universities and community colleges in every state. The students all share a passion for Japanese language, culture and educational exchange.

The Foundation also operates four memorial funds that provide named scholarships in memory of the Bill Bishop Family, Robert Grondine, Jeremiah Trusty, and Ira Wolf. Donations to the memorial funds support scholarships in the form of cash stipends, mentoring, programming, and administration in the allocation ratio indicated above as do donations to the to the Bridging Scholarship Fund and the Bridging Alumni Fund at the $6,000 and $3,500 amounts.
