40 Friendship Blossom Trees Planted in Minamisanriku-cho
(August 7, 2014) Mark Davidson, the Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, recently helped to plant 40 Friendship Blossom Trees in Minamisanriku-cho. Minamisanriku-cho was greatly affected by the tsunami of March 2011 and many of its citizens are still living in temporary housing. Mr. Davidson spoke of the trees' symbolism of the American peoples' commitment to their relationship with Japan and their willingness to help them through hard times. Mr. Davidson can be seen pictured below along with Mayor Jin Sato and Mr. Mark Beiderweiden, the president of Amway Japan.
